Dropped in for lunch today after shopping at Whole Foods and the Basalt re sale shops. We were blown away by the quality of the food and wine by the glass. I had the house specialty spaghetti with grilled chicken; the flavors were bright and fresh. My wife had the Arctic char which was masterfully cooked. The service was great- friendly and knowledgeable.

Loved the atmosphere. We sat at the bar and although I'm not drinking, the bartender made me feel right at home. I told her I like spicy bloody mary's and she made one with their amazing homemade bloody mary mix (warning - it's like a meal. A yummy one, though!) and left me with the whole JAR of hot sauce to make it as spicy as I wanted. She really won my heart. We tried 3-4 appetizers and a burger and we were pretty happy with everything - especially the mussels. The meatballs were a bit tasteless but the sauce was yummy. The appetizers were a bit on the heavy side - one will probably fill you up pretty good if you want to have a meal, too. They have a burger menu that makes me drool - can't wait to go back for an italian looking burger I saw on a chalkboard above the bar. We sat for at least two hours and never felt like we should get up and move. The bartender was super sweet. This restaurant makes gluten free and vegetarian options - always a plus when they care like that ;-) The place got packed but held the noise and the volume very well. I usually don't like to review unless I've been to a place at least twice - but in the case of DVT I can't wait to go back ;-) So I thought I'd share.

Quality food, good variety of options, reasonable prices, cozy atmosphere (although it was nearly empty when we had dinner on Saturday night, 4th of July weekend), excellent service. Beer selection seemed quite limited for a 'tavern,' but tasty menu options abounded. I'd highly recommend the roasted beet rissotto: goat cheese, truffle oil, a culinary masterpiece!!

Went to lunch with a couple of friends. Which was good as we could try each others dishes. But 2 of us ended witb the same item. Service was friendly. Only 1 server and she was busy but didn't have to wait too long. Full service bar. I chose a burger which was done to perfection as I ordered it medium rare. The pannini was also very good. Dessert was creatively good too. We had the special of the day Chocolate Crema. The cappuccinos were cold. I asked for mine to be warmed up. Our server apologized and made a new one, with a good attitude. I will return again.

Pretty decent little spot, close to the road and perfect for a stop on your way in or out of the area. Highbrow bar food - everything I ate was nicely prepared - and a really pleasant staff.

4 stars for food - very good - but two stars for feeling comfortable while dining. The atmosphere was very nice but there were two things that felt troublesome (1) the feeling like were weren't "hip" enough to dine there, like we were two boring people intruding on the server who doubled as bartender at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon and (2) the awful heavy metal music that was playing so loud that unsavory lyrics were clearly distinguishable. Item 1 and 2 combined when we asked that the music be turned down and received some unspoken attitude in return while complying with our request. Nonetheless we decided to stay and the food was worth weathering the bumpy beginning. My husband had the caesar salad with added grilled shrimp along with the spaghetti. The shrimp portion was plump, flavorful, freshly grilled, and generous, well worth the up charge. The salad was a bit overdressed but the dressing was mild and not overpowering. The spaghetti sauce was olive oil and garlic based with delightful cherry tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. The portion was generous and the side of bread was grilled. I ordered the veggie pannini and it was yummy! Instead of bread they used some of their thin pizza dough and the sandwich was stuffed with avocado, lettuce, grilled peppers, mushrooms, provolone, and aioli. I forgot to specify wanting the arugula salad instead of fries and when I mentioned my error and requested the salad, the server was uncooperative (a carry over from paragraph one above). So all in all, the food was very good but our overall experience was just average and we're hesitant to return as a result.

Wow! We stopped here for lunch and were so impressed with the service and the food! The menu had a lot of variety and unique ingredients. I am always a bit skeptical when things sound really good because sometimes the taste doesn't live up to the description. Not the case here! We got a thin crust pizza with Brie and pear that was amazing! We also loved the tuna panini with arugula salad. Everything was fresh and flavorful. They had some great specials too am lots of fun drinks- prosecco mimosas and sparkling limoncello- yum!! Would definitely recommend!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
